Design Engineer / 3D Draftsperson

We pay well and offer excellent perks. Salary is dependant on experience. Three years or more of industry experience is preferred, however candidates with less experience but bucket loads of ambition and an eagerness to learn quickly are still encouraged to apply.
The role will be full time and salaried, the hours being Monday-Thursday 8am-5pm and Friday 8am-3pm. The role is based in North-East England, please do not apply unless you are based in, or can relocate to this area.
The right candidate should:
Possess deep enthusiasm, dedication, and a passion for engineering, design and manufacturing.
Have a desire to continually learn, improve and develop new skills, to be the very best you can be.
Be technically-minded, with strong problem solving ability.
Have at least an understanding of basic metalworking principles, experience in furniture design and manufacturing is a huge advantage.
Be highly organised, thorough, and not shy of a little admin.
Be willing and able to take instruction from the company Directors and Studio Manager, but to also be proactive and self motivated.
Have strong drawing ability. SolidWorks proficiency is a huge advantage but not essential, and training will be given to the right candidate. As a minimum the candidate should have competency in AutoCAD and SketchUp. Must be able to communicate ideas effectively via hand sketching.
Preferably be proficient in Adobe InDesign.
Have excellent email and telephone etiquette and be comfortable communicating with clients and suppliers.
Possess a full UK driving licence and be able to commute to our workshop in Washington, North East England, with their own vehicle. Must be able to visit suppliers locally as necessary during the day.
Be happy to get their hands dirty when required.
